Steering Committee and Town Hall Meeting
A steering committee meeting of the New York-Connecticut Sustainable Communities Consortium will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 9, 2011. This event will convene in the Auditorium of the Nassau County Police Department, 1490 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, NY 11501. (Map)
The meeting will include a presentation on the work being done by the New York-Connecticut Sustainable Communities Consortium, a collaboration of local governments and regional planning organizations. This partnership is working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and other federal agencies to create economic opportunity, housing options, transportation choices, and a better quality of life for you and your community.
Speakers at the December 9 town hall will include Jennifer Cribbs, sustainability coordinator for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's New York-New Jersey regional office; and Debra Devine, director of policy & research at the New York State Department of Homes & Community Renewal.
This meeting is one of several public forums that will be scheduled throughout Downstate New York and Southern Connecticut to obtain input on programs goals and actions.
